Iron Man (released almost exactly two years ago) resided somewhere between the pop-pleasure of Spiderman and the gloomy relevance of The Dark Knight. It was loads of action-fun, but maintained an edgy, character driven core.

Its immense success has led to an inevitable sequel, which is predictably inferior, though not unenjoyable.
